Give people access (seats)
Decide who in your organisation uses a per-user subscription.
A per-user subscription has a number of licences. Each person who uses the product needs a seat. Owners and Technical admins manage seats.
- Open Subscriptions and choose the subscription.
- In Who uses this subscription, the caption shows how many seats are given out, for example 3 of 10 seats given out.
- To give a seat, enter the person's email (and a name, if you want one shown) and confirm. When all seats are taken, add licences first (see Change your plan).
- To take a seat back, choose Remove next to the person. They lose access until a seat is given back.
Licences managed by Microsoft
For some Microsoft Marketplace plans, licences are assigned in the Microsoft 365 admin centre (Billing › Licences), not here: whoever holds a licence there can use the product. The subscription shows Managed by Microsoft, and Check their licence tells you whether a given colleague holds one. The first check may ask you to Grant permission so the portal can look on your behalf; an administrator of your organisation may need to approve it once.
